' f took a year's leave of absence last X Q . summer, hls position was occupied by Nlr. Ivor Callaway, dean of boys. mi! During his year as acting prlncl- pal, Mr. Callaway gained a whole host of new friends. During this year he displayed unlimited energy in carrying out the duties and ob- ligatlons of his offlce. He worked with the students and faculty on innumerable projects for the bet- terment of the school. He welcomed visitors, organized the monthly calendars, supervised at dances, handled financial matters, presid- ed at meetings, and concentrated on building school splrit. During the past year Polytechnic set many records scholastlcally and athletlcally. Mr. Callaway gave his full support to both projects. Students have growntolooktoward lvlr. Checking on absences, meeting with parents, solving personal problems, and handling late arrivals are a few of her many tasks. Nlrs. Walker is ever-ready to be of assistance to the girls of Poly- tech nic. Mn Harold Zimmennan Dean of Bogs Mr. Harold Zimmerman took over the position vacated temp- orarlly by Mr. Callaway. As dean of boys Mr. Zimmerman was quick to gain the respect of the male members of Polytech- nic. Problem behavior, super- vision, and counseling were a few ofthe general areas covered by the new dean.
