FORWARD: The Polytechnic 1957 expresses the theme of the new Polytechnic High School. . .the school that is going modern. On the second floor the new Lux Electronics and Science Laboratory is nearing completion and will soon be in use, training the scientists of tomorrow. The school bond issue was passed, part of which will be utilized to modernize the building. 1957 has found Polytechnic going mod- ern in many ways. This year the yearbook goes modern, too, symbolizing the new Polytechnic growing out of the traditions of the past. GRANVILLE THOMAS HOWARD THOMPSON .WARREN TELFER The Polytechnic 1957 is dedi- cated to those who are leaving this school after many years of devoted service. Words cannot adequately express the feelings ofthose past and present Polyites who haye been instructed, guided, and helped by Miss Edith Bell, Mr. Arthur Sutherland, Mr. Granville Thomas, and Mr. How- ard Thompson. To say that they will be missed is a masterpiece of tuiderstatement. Yet, it is the simple truth. On behalf of the Polytechnic High School faculty, student body, and alumni, the staff of the '57 yearbook would like to wish the retiring teachers many years of happiness, health, and good fortune.
