Student Officers, Fall, 1950 During the Fall term of 1950 the student govern- ment of Polytechnic was under the competent leader- ship of President Bob Korte. Ably assisting the president was Vice-President Nancy Hopkins, who very successfully put over the stu- dent body dance, Stairway to the Stars. Seeing to it that our finances were kept in proper condition were Treas- urer Roberta Sunde and her assistant, Harry Busse. If any Poly alumnus should have seen a session of the student court, he would, no doubt, have been sur- prised and pleased to see Carol Men- hennet as judge. Carol started a new precedent by being selected the first girl student court judge in the history of Poly. all announcements were posted. Speaker of Congress, Denis OlMalley, was kept active with his duty of pre- siding over the representative body. Although this term was marked by the loss of BOB KORTE, Preiident Sam Butler, athletic manager, was responsible for ticket sales and promotion of sports events this term. Judge football championship, Cheer Leader Bill Rodarte did an excellent job of keeping up school spirit with his numerous card stunts and yells. President Bob introduced something new in entertainment this term by presenting an exchange rally with Lincoln High School. Mr. Kinney, student body adviser, hoped to make this exchange rally with Lincoln a tradition. The Presidentsl Council, consist- ing of the president and Vice-presi- dent of each San Francisco high school and also a delegate-at-large, was successfully organized this term and is anticipated to continue in future terms.
