A new and more up-to-date Gold 'aLl' system was one of the major contributions of this class. So that more individuals could become familiar with the workings of Student Government, many History classes were allowed to observe the class in action. DAVID STARR STUDENT BODY PRESIDENT SPRING SEMESTER l With efficiency as the theme, the administration of David Starr has brought a great sense of dignity and respect to the office of Stu- dent Body President. David has not only done an excel- lent job in adding eminence to Poly's city standing, but also he has shown concern for the individual student. David's other accomplish- ments include sealbearer, two-jeweled 'cL,,, Editor-in- Chief of High Life, and president of Junior EX- change. Because of his talent in the field of Writing, he spent a summer session at Northwestern University. He also received first place in the local Ford Foundation Contest and competed in the national finals in Detroit. Future plans for David in- clude a political science or liberal arts major at a Cali- fornia university. 25

GOVERNMENT The Student Government put on an assembly of their 'gtalentn which Was enthusiastically received by the student body. We hope this will become a yearly event. The Commissioners meet every Thursday morning to discuss the prob- lems and opinions of the entire student body. The meetings are a demon- stration of our student democracy in action.
