DAVID STARR STUDENT BODY PRESIDENT SPRING SEMESTER l With efficiency as the theme, the administration of David Starr has brought a great sense of dignity and respect to the office of Stu- dent Body President. David has not only done an excel- lent job in adding eminence to Poly's city standing, but also he has shown concern for the individual student. David's other accomplish- ments include sealbearer, two-jeweled 'cL,,, Editor-in- Chief of High Life, and president of Junior EX- change. Because of his talent in the field of Writing, he spent a summer session at Northwestern University. He also received first place in the local Ford Foundation Contest and competed in the national finals in Detroit. Future plans for David in- clude a political science or liberal arts major at a Cali- fornia university. 25

The moment Ruby Hada finished her campaign speech last June the student body knew that she possessed a very important quality, en- thusiasm. Her enthusiasm made tasks easier, bolstered school spirit, and made everyone feel like trying just a little harder. Leadership is stressed in the life of Ruby Hada. She served as sophomore and junior class president, cor- responding secretary of Tabek, vice-president of Tajma, corresponding secre- tary of Portia, recording sec- retary of Socorro Aqui, and pledge mistress of Bohem- ians. At present she repre- sents Poly as a Buffum's Young Careerist and is also recipient of the two-jeweled ML. Her future college plans include either Long Beach State or U.C.L.A., Where her major will be business administration. 24 STUDENT BODY PRESIDENT FALL SEMESTER RUBY HADA
