s -It is a scientific fact that Man is theonly one of God's creatures that can smile. And it is tor- tunate that he cando so, tor he has much to smile sham. ifI'he' ENTHUSIASM behind Mans drive to better his lot has resulted in accomplish- ments that make his civilization more comfortable and his future more hopeful. p . V k The ENTHUSIASM that has led Man's progress is manifested in a zest for competition-physical and mental--and a determination to complete a task we take upon ourselves. ENTHUSIASM is that immeasurable quality that motivates us to work toward a goal when reason and logic tell us that the goal is beyond reach. And ENTI-IUSIASM is that important element of success when the goal is finally reached. Most of all, ENTHUSIASM is a genuine love of lite. It is an emotion that directs us toward universal brotherhood when all apparent events take such an ideal out ot the realm of reality. When ENTI-IUSIASM is inthe heart, the impos- sible is no longer a barrier to accomplishment. It is an ENTI-IUSIASTIC iaith in the Goodness ot Man that brings illusive peace within our grasp. It is to this highest degree of ENT!-IUSIASM to which we dedicate the 1959 Caerulea.
