“ P Club THE ATHLETIC BANQUET March 9th was a big night for students of P.H.S. and especially for the Athletic Lettermen. The occasion was the Annual Athletic Banquet, always looked forward to with great enthusiasm. This year's attendance was around 150. Superintendent A. D. Peterson acted as toastmaster for the evening, and pre- sented the Athletic Queens, Miss Ramona Wheeler, Football Queen, and Miss Peggy Campbell, Basketball Queen. Coach Leo Ellis presented Certificates of Award and White Letters to members of the 1950-Sl Football and Basketball Teams. Football and Basketball Co-Captain, Leon Edwards, presented the CRC Confer- ence Basketball Trophy to the representative of the school, Mr. A. D. Peterson. Mr. Earl Keth, Basketball Coach of Central Missouri State College, Warrensburg, Missouri, gave a talk and showed a film on basketball. Mr. Keth was a member of the 1938 NAIB Championship Team, and was selected for the All American Team of 1938. I The banquet tables were gaily decorated with green and white, the school colors, and with miniature football and basketball goals. Green and White nutcups were rnade by the Home Economics Department. Joyce Otto, Beverly Vaught, Winona Myers, Rita Esteb, Betty Cooper, Phyllis Cooper, Jane Rardon, Virginia Hiskett, Emma Jean Skinner, Delores Caldwell, Shirley Wormsley, and Edith Schildknecht very capably served the tables. Mrs, McCorkindale, Home Economics Instructor, was in charge of decorations and waitresses, The menu was selected by the P Club and prepared by the Hot Lunch Personnel, under the efficient direction of Mrs. Jo, Wormsley. This banquet marks the end of a season for a progressive football squad and the end of a very successful basketball season. 45
