LOOK AT THE PAST As Semors of 1958 let us look back over the years to the year 1946 Mrs Fox was greeted by seventeen small boys and glrls The students were Alv1nChacey Carol Helwig MarJor1eHootman Larry Howell Jim Lefever Lewis Longcoy Lucille Martin Emma Messmore Dar1usM1ller Ph1ll1p Miller Patsy Repp George Reynolds Suzanne Spake Roy Turk Carol Warrens John Weaver and Shir ley Wiley At the end of the first grade we lost Alv1nChacey Carol Helwig Emma Messmore Patsy Repp and Johnny Weaver We had five addmons IH the second grade who were Bobby Dubois Hazel Grim Faye White Bar bara Johnston Bob Weller and Audrey West Mrs Fox was our teacher again this year Bobby Dubois and Phillip Miller left us before school was out In the third grade we were sorry to lose Mrs Fox but we were just as happy with Mrs Bordner as our teacher This year we had lost George Reynolds but gained three new students They were Ethel Hambley Jean Keith and Janet Longden At the f1n1sh of the school year Hazel Grim Faye White and Carol Warrens left us Mrs Workman was our fourth grade teacher This year we had five addttions to our class They were Allce Maynard Jim and Sue Owens Olive Steng and Joe Walders We lost Ohve Steng and Joe Walters at the end of the f1rst semester Janet Longd n also left us Mrs Aslre was our fifth and sixth grade teacher In the fifth grade Clayton Tenny Joined us and Alice Maynard moved to Ashland We started our slxth year w1th eleven students after losing I 1m and Sue Owens In the seventh grade our home room teacher was Mr Camp We found we had lost Clayton Tenny but there were several new faces to get acqualnted with Eugene Eichelberger Hazel Grim Betty Hile man Larry Norris Marvin McQuate Eddie Savick and Faye Whitejoined us from Red Haw Shirley Farner from Ashland Sh1rley Schlechty from Hayesville and Clarence Lindsay Kenneth Workman and Earl Drayer were the other additions In the eighth grade Mr Marley was our home room teacher Th1s year we lost Bob Weiler Ken neth Workman Earl Drayer and Clarence Lindsay Don Gerrell and Jim Norris joined us but Don left at the end of the year In 1954 there were twenty students in our Freshman Class to take their f1rst venture 1nto high school This year we had lost Lewis Longcoy but galned David Owens We chose M1ss Robinson as our advlsor tary Sh1r1eySCh1eChty Treasurer HazelGr1m Student Counc1lRepresentat1ve Jim Lefever At the begmning of our Sophomore year we chose Mrs Crumrme as our advisor This year we galned Ellen Taylor Our class officers were President Marjorie Hootman Vice President Marvin McQuate Secretary Sh1rley Schlechty Treasurer Hazel Grim Student Council Representative .Tlm Lefever As we began our Junior year we found we had lost Ellen Taylor who moved to Ashland This year we chose Mrs Bates as our advlsor Our class off1cers were Presid nt Sh1rley Schlechty Vice Pres1 dent Marjorie Hootman Secretary Hazel Grim Treasurer Roy Turk Stud ntCounc1lRepresentat1ve .Tim Lefever This year we presented the play Spec1al Delivery Male which was directed by Laura Bates We w1ll all remember the work that we did toward the Junior Senior Banquet but we w1ll all agree it was worth every bit of work that went mto II As we were ready to begin our Semor and Final year we were sorry to discover we had lost Mar Jorle Hootman Barbara Johnston and Marvin McQuate We were all happy to have our new addition Esther Johnson who moved to Polk from Burbank We chose our class offlcers as President Roy Turk V1ce Presldent Larry Norr1s Secretary Faye White Treasurer Hazel Grim Student Council Repre sentatlve Jim Lefever We have chosen Mr Crumrine as our class advisor We presented our Seruor Class Play If Mother Only Knew directed by Mrs Prouse The members of the 1958 Senior Class are Eugene Eichelberger Shirley Farner Hazel Grim Larry Howell Betty Hlleman Esther Johnson Jean Keith J1mLefever Luc1lleMart1n JimNorr1s Larry Norr1s Eddte Savlck Sh1rley Schlechty Suzanne Spake Roy Turk Faye Whlte and Sh1rley Wil ey We are all looking forward to our Semor Trip and Graduation Page Sponsored By ART PRINTING COMPANY 17 HAROLD S MOTOR COMPANY Ashland Oluo Ashland Ohio ' u n n no 3 . l : .
