D0 WN MEMORY LANE Let us look back to the year 1943 Twelve small boys and gxrls started to Polk School The students were Marlene Sports Joan McFadden Ronald Crossen Charles Crossen Ethel Crossen Shlrley Mack Dons Sxgrtst B111 Reed Kenny Workman Joan Garver Harry Hartsel and Emma Lmdsey Our f1rst and second grade teacher was Mrs Fox At the end of the f1rst grade we lost Kenny Workman but had two addmons tn the second grade who were Tommy Repp and Freda Scherlff In the thxrd grade we had a brand newteacher Mrs Baxter Charles Turk and Glenn Love Jomed our class tlus year At the end of the thrrd grade we lost Joan Garver Betty Lewls came when we were tn the fourth grade We also had another new teacher thrs year Mrs Hammon Mrs As1re was our flfth and slxth grade teacher Mane Kane Harley Knowlton Joan Herr Arlene West and Shelby P1att came whlle we were tn the fnfth grade Joan Blgelow B111 Roseborough and Carohne MacIntosh 1o1ned us ln the s1xth grade Our homeroom teacher 1n the seventh grade was Mrs Moffett Tlus year Harrlet Johnston Buford Hileman, and Donald Ralston Jomed our class We lost Tom Repp Joan B1ge1ow Marte Kane and Fredla Scherxff dns year Durmg the exghth grade several members of our class left They were Shelby Pxatt Bill Roseborough Arlene West Carol Owens EmmaL1ndsey Glenn Love Harley Knowlton Buford Hrleman and Donald Ralston Mrs Moffett was our home room teacher th1s year also ln 1951 there were thtrteen members 1n the Freshman class We felt very grown up thls year as thts was our f1rst year of htgh school We choose as our class advxsor Mr Wohlgamuth Our class officers were as follows Presxdent Ronald Crossen V1ce President Joan McFadden th1s year we lost Charles Crossen At the beg1nmng of our Sophomore year we chose as our leaders Presxdent Ronald Cros sen Treasurer, Joan McFadden Secretary Marlene Spotts Tfus year Harry Hartsel left and Carohne Maclntosh moved to Caltforma We had several parttes thxs year and sold cakes at basketball games to razse money Mr Marley was chosen as our class advxsor As we started our .Tumor year we gatned a new member who was Ralph Chamberlam Mr Marley was chosen agam as our class advlsor Presrdent, Ralph Chamberlam Vtce Prestdent Charles Turk Secretary Joan McFadden Treasurer Marlene Spotts We had bake sales and sponsored a Jamboree to ra1se funds for our tr1p Th.1s year we presented our class play Mama s Baby Boy whlch was under the dlrecnon of Mr Wohlgamuth As westarted our Senlor and final year we were sorry to ftnd that we had lost another member of our class Ralph Chamberlain but happy to ftnd that we had a new addxtion Jtm Campbell We chose as our leaders Presxdent Ronald Crossen V1oe Pres1dent Charles Turk Secretary Dons Sigrist Treasurer Shxrley Mack We have chosen as our advisor Mr Crumrme This year we wtll present our Semor class play Belles ll'l Wamng ' under the dxrectton of Mrs Loyd The members of the Senior class are as follows Joan Herr Betty Lewxs Joan McFadden Dor1s Stgrtst Ethel Crossen Ronald Crossen, Charles Turk Marlene Spotts Shirley Mack B111 Reed and Jim Campbell At thls tune we are lookmg forward to our .Tumor Semor Banquet and ftnally Graduauon 16 I I I I I I I I I I I . . . . . , , . . . . . . . . , . . . . . .
