Superintendent s Message TO THE CLASS OF 1959: It is with pleasure and honor that I salute you and express my good wishes for your future success and happiness. We hope that the time you have spent in school here will be the beginning of an ad- vancing era toward higher education and will serve as a record of these years of accomplish- ments and achievements at Polk High School. No other generation of youth in history has been confronted with social, economic, and political problems more far-reaching than that of today. It is my hope that your experience in Polk High School will help you meet these problems and enable you to think and act for yourself and enjoy the benefits of your creation so that you may face the world boldly and accept these obligations to the service of humanity and the glory of God.
