Out banquet as Juniors we chose Hitch Your Wagon To A Star for our banquet theme. It was held on May k, 1951. The room was deco- rated with blue sky with silver stars scattered over It to represents sky at night. A floral garden made up the one side of the background representing a flower garden. A pink 51 was placed in a field of white. This was made by use of pink and white flower8. The sides were made of twisted streamers of grey and red making a very colorful outline. Thereceptlon roomit- self was outlined in grey and red with a grass mat for floor piece. The stage was gaily decorated with a red wagon with stars placed on it with red and grey streamers leading to a large silver star upon the curtain. This depicted the theme of the banquet. On the other half of the stage we find the motto of this years class We Build the Ladder Upon Which We Climb. The tables formed a star setting the guests on the outside. The top was white, trimmed with a small red trim on the inside. At each point a red candle was placed. Where each point met toward the middle was placed a large silver star flanked by flowers. Streamers from the points twisted to- ward the center where there was a light shining brightly toward the heavens. Speechs were made by the followings Prank Ostrander as Master of Ceremonies; Jim Klingsporn as Senior Response; Annette Wilshusen sang; Jean- elle Kroger spoke; Emil Rosno cracked a few Jokes; from the heavens there was heard a piano duet by ' 1 Marlyce Shostrom and Sheralee Hill; Milky Way was given by Duane Johnson; and Superintendent Leamons { brought the program to a close. • j The meal was prepared by the Junior Mothers and served by the following Sophomores: Virginia Harding, Lois Miller, Harriet Bush, Gaylen Holmes, Dale Peterson, Donald Nyberg, and Janice Jones served as hat check girl.
