Histless at first until I recognized the faces of old P.H.S. Then I sat erect for now I could truthfully (?) prophecy. The city of Polk had grown, and now its wJLde boulevard with flags was bedecked. Then came a great procession and I heard the herald proclaim that it was Homecoming Day for those who were famed and had graduated from Polk High with the class of '49 Mr. Willert standing on the band stand of Polk, Nebraska is giv- ing brief summary of what the Seniors of 49 are doing today. Prof. Leland Anderson is seated at his desk going over his His- tory assignment for tomorrow as he rocks one of his children on his knee. RoJean is putting the other children to bed. % Mrs. Gilbert Springer is haloing overhaul the family car by hold-' ing the wrenches. Mr.Springer now has his own parare in Polk where the former Fredrickson s Implement Shop was located. You will pro- bably remember Mrs. Springer better as Clydella Baker. Dorothy Dahlln is working part time for a Minneapolis Moline Co- mpany as private secretary for the president of the firm, Philip Mel- ine. She also sings at the Trivoli Opera House four nights a week. She is looking forward to making her debut in New York next month. John Ekstrom, after six years of college is now practicing den- tistry in Rio De Janeiro, Argentina. At the present he is dating An- nette Johnson who is now his nart time dental assistent, while she works six hours a day in the nursery at a nearby hospital. Ernie Gleim, who attended Agriculture College for four years now has his own experimental farm where he grows hybrids of all kinds. Five years ago he was married to his old school sweetheart, Dorothy Hanquist. Gordon Johnson,now a famous aviator, has just finished a trip a- round the world making a new record. His home is in Rochester, New York, where his wife and two sons reside. The former Iolene Johnson now married to a wealthy New York broker. She is noted for her lavish oarties given in her elaborate mansion and last year was named one of the ten best dressed ladies in the United States. Vernette Kingsley is now married to America s number one barber. She has her own beauty salon adjoining the barber shop, known as the RITZEE beauty shop. On Sunday afternoon she plays in the all women s orchestra over the radio. Mrs. John Vanderbuilt is combining her career with married life by taking notes for her husband during his court trials. Her hobby at the present time is raising Boston Bull Dogs. You will probably rem- ember Mrs. Vanderbuilt as the former Maxine Kingsley. 1mg

JJ J V m X UUIUBD anst; Mrs. Glenn Schrader Is now residing on a farm near Brp shaw. Her Schrader, bet- husband runs a dairy Tarm and she raises chickens. Mrs ter known as Elaine Klingsporn, has a hobby of growing hybrid roses. Superintendent RoDonna Llndholm Is now residing at Gothenburg. She has taught there four years but Is planning to resign this spring. RoDonna is looking forward to a June wedding. Mrs. Dale Lindburg and her husband are living In the western part of Nebraska where they have a truck farm. They have two children—a boy and a girl. She is president of her womens society, and is the local seamstress. She is the former Rowena Light. Elmer Ratzlaff is the Gary Coooer of today and works for MGM pic- tures. At present he is starring in the picture Love in the South Pacific 1. His lovely wife and two sons are living with him in Holly- wood. Duane Sterner and his wife, Maxine, are living on a farm near Osceola. During the summer he plays baseball with the Cornhusker Lea- gue. W© assume he is doing very well on the farm because last week he bought a new 6$ Fraizer. Patricia Williams is now playing professional basketball with the famous Redhead Team. Her favorite hobby is crocheting and knitting. She is engaged to a wealthy St. Louis baseball player and they Dlan to be married when Miss Williams returns from her tour at the end of the season.
