Music is very important to me. A lot of my time is taken up by either practicing or performing. I am a member of the high school chorus where I sing and accompany them. I am also a member of the Rotary Commu- nity Chorus, which gives con- certs in the spring and at Christ- mas. This year, we were asked to send a group of 50 to perform our Christmas concert at the Bilt- more House in Asheville and I was pleased to be chosen among the 50 out of lO7 members. Also, for the past three years, I have attended a music confer- ence in Flat Rock, N.C. where the final concert is professionally taped. I have been taking piano at Converse College for about two and one-half years. We give two concerts each semester. I have competed for two scholarships and auditioned for an Honors Recital, in which I performed. I really enjoy studying music, I hope to enter the field of music. Studying and practicing in- volves a lot of time and hard work, however, when I'm on stage performing, it all pays off in the feeling of satisfaction I re- ceive.
