The Polk Central Band had a successful marching season beginning with three weeks of preparation and band camp. We attended all football games and competed in five marching band contests from which we received, excellent—superior ratings, two third-place trophies and two second-place trophies. The concert season was very successful. It began with the annual Christmas Concert, and continued as many band students audition for All- State Band. Spring events were: Concert Festival, Spring Concert, and Band Banquet. 1981-1982 has been and continues to be a very great year indeed!!! 7th and 8th Grade Band

This year the Beta Club boasts a membership of Ju- niors and Seniors thirty strong. We have been busy so far and plan on a successful year. Members of the Beta Club went Christmas carolling in December. We honored the teachers (with the traditional red apple) for National Education Week.
