JIASS HISTORY In September of 1956, with 25 little folks, we started on our great adventure, which we thought would never end. But it did finally end!! The roll call of our first year was answered by: Mary Bell, Jack Blowers, William Bookout, Glentzer, Elaza Irenhart, Richard Gorle, John Cook, Phyllis Elmore, Donn Mary Lawhorn, Leta Lewis, Billie Marshall, Herbert Myers, Wanda Myers, Robert Meyers, Mary Martin, Nellie Martin, Betty Nibarger, Robert Park, Bonnie Sanders, Marjorie Stultz, Marjorie Urban, Barbara Wilson, Delphia William's, Audrey Lasley and Anne Cummin- S- In the second year we gained, Max Gorle, Marie Cummins, Christina Davis, Herbert Hummer, Legora Markle, Sarah Yoder, Betty Watkins, Doro- thy Irwin. We lost, William Bookout, Richard Gorle, John Cook, Phyllis Elmore, Donna Glentzer, Eliza Isenhart, Mary Lawhorn, Billie Marshall, Wanda Myers, Robert Park, In our third year we Twigg, James Votaw, Lloyd Whipple, Doris Hart, Carl Delphia William's, Anne Cummins. gained, Clarence Bell, Herman Davis, Virgil Lawhorn, Glenis Moses, Sameul Norris, Fredrick Hart, Lillian Newton. In our fourth year we gained, George Farris, Priscilla Tarr, and Bryon Nuss. We lost Clarence Bell, Mary Bell, Donna Glentzer. In our fifth year we gained, Dorothy Bisenbuck, Phyllis Elmore, Bet- ty Fogle, Audrey Lasley, Marilyn Kranner, and Vera Slack. We lost Bonnie Sanders. In our sixth year we gained, Louella Glessner, We lost Virgil Twigg, Byron Nuss, Granklin Stande. In our seventh year we gained, Leo Hummer. We lost Phyllis Elmore, Louella Glessner, Lillian Newton, Marilyn Kraner, Audrey lasley, Glennie Moses,'Franklin Staude, Marjorie Stultz, Herbert Hummer. In our eight year we gained, Rober Price, and Betty James. We lost, Herman Davis, George Farris, Carl Hart, Leo Hummer, Lloyd Lawhorn, Mary Lawhorn, Leta Lewis, Legora Markle, Betty Martin, Nellie Martin, and Betty Watkins. In our ninth year we lost Robert Price. We gained Lindy James, and Eldon Waters. In our tenth year we lost, Barbara Wilson and Lindy James. We gain- ed B asil Whipple, Susanna Updike, Kenneth Weaver, and Darrel Weaver. In our eleventh year we lost, Kenneth Weaver, and James Votaw. He gained, Robert Robinette. Now we come to our last and final year, Cwe hopel with the roll an- swered by: Marjorie Urban, Vera Slack, Susanna Updike, Betty James, Jack Blowers, Bob Myers, Robert Robinette, Darrell Weaver, Frederick Whipple, Eldon Waters and IB si1 Whipple. Betty James, born in Greene Township, Jay County, October 20, 1930, is the daughter of Mr, k Mrs. Clarence James. She came to Poling in the eigth grade. Marjorie Urban, born in Philadelphia Pennsylvania, February 9, 1951, is the daughter of Mr. Q Mrs. Kenneth Urban. She spent all her school days at Poling. Vera Slack, born in Portland Indiana, Jay County March 24, 1930, is the daughter of Mr. k Mrs. Earl Slack. She came to Poling in the fifth grade. Susanna Updike born in Dunkirk Indiana, Jay County, March 26, 1930, is the daughter of Mr, k Mrs. Evelyn Updike. She came to Poling in her tenth year.
