The Football Team Poland finished the 12351 football season with four wins, two ties, and three losses. However, we now have a lifetime possession of the old straw hat by defeating Lowellville in the last game of the season. The team did quite well considering that there were only five returning lettermen. This was Poland's last year in Class B football. Next year they will play a full Tri-County league schedule. We wish them the best of luck in this league. The team wishes to thank the coaches, Mr. McKee and Mr. Eckhardtg the faculty: the Boosters' Club: the students: and all who helped this year's team. Although losing every away game during the regular season, the Bulldogs won seven out of eight games at home. ln the tournaments the team did very well, beating Lowellville for the county consolation championship and not being eliminated until the final round of the Sectional Tourney. All told, the team had a good season in its last year in Class B competition, winning eleven games and losing twelve. There were a number of records broken this year. Some of the more outstanding ones were: l. Most points scored in one season. Cl,223 pointsl 2. Most points scored in one game. C85 pointsl 3. Most points scored by an individual in one season.
