The re- sponsibility for their develop- ment,however,1s shared by the school with the home, the church and other agencies, whereas the school itself is rightly held responsible for teaching the three R's. A greater competency in these basic skills is needed today. Our reading demands, our need to communicate and the required mathematical comprehensions in- crease with the complexities of modern living. Our society de- mands that the elementary school be alert to give each child the basic tools, together with under standings for good citizenship and enriched living. We, the undersi ned, do hereby swear that the foregoing was made with- out force or duress ?except by the yearbook publishers! and that this lm- mortal document is a true representation of the greatest class of all, THE CLASS OF 1960. Attesting to this great honor we hereby scrawl our names: WITNESSESI H.R.M. KING COURTNQ' Zu Isl fQ,,wf ' jfyffy apr ' gggyafn 'wu- 1 N 5? for We, the Senior Class of Nineteen Sixty Cf Poland Central High, Give to all our fond best wishes As we bid you all good-bye, And we leave with you this message Which we hope you'll understand, For it paints for you a picture Of the things for which we stand. We believe in honest labor And in every job well done, That by dint of true endeavor We shall leave no task undone. We believe that truth and honor Point the way to fuller life, And to peace and understanding As opposed to fear and strife. We will honor every teacher With respect and high regard, And we thank them for their guidance When the road seemed long and hard. We believe in the dignity of honest toil With its promise of just reward, And we believe the crowning joy of life Is trusting faith in the Lord. And as we follow our chosen way As one by one we leave, We shall strive to practice always These things that we believe. And we'll try as we greet each new day With heart and hand to give Something to make this world of ours A better place in which to live, -Written for the Seniors by Mr. Brooks 95?
