K TER OKEY KEEPER BILL STEVENS PHYLLIS CHEESEBREW NAOMI HUFFMAN JUANITA YOST had dectded that Mr and Mtss Venus were to be Betty Jo Watson and Dwayne Ktdwell, We congratulated them and went on wtth our shoppmg Fxrst we ured the Keenerette Shop owned by NINA KEENER Nxnagreetedus and Introduced us to her sales glrls PATTY FRUTH EILEEN PLANTS JOAN SPENCER and MARIE MARTIN Next we passed the kttchen utenslls where we saw the Venus Play boys sttll bachelorsafter all theseyears They were none other than HOWARD STURGEON BOB WORKMAN WILLIAM MAYES LIONEL WOLFE CURTIS BURDETTE and LAVERN BLAINE buymg utens1ls for thetr apartments After buytng a few souventrs from IMOGENE ELLIOT DGIOTHY LITCHFIELD ANN MC COY and BARBARA MAYES we were on our way back to the hotel Then we saw RICHARD SINES and LANDIS WANDLING the local dog catchers chasmg a poor lxttle dog but he got away After reachmg the apartment we fmlshed packmg and rang for the porters whom we recogmzed as DAVID SAYRE and WILBER STEPHENS Arrtvtng at the atrport we boarded our rocket and headed for the Earth Whtle travehng we remmtsced about our Venus Hohday and the wonderful time we had wxth all our schoolmates and al though Venus was all me travel folders had adverused we preferred the Earth PHYLLIS MELTON and MARY ESTHER TENNANT CLASS HISTORY In September 1951 204 students boarded the1r prtvate space shtp as Pomt Pleasant I-hgh School They were gomg on a four year tr1p 1nto space searchmg for knowledge The ptlot the ftrst year was our prtnctpal Mr C H Wtthers The co ptlots and weathermen were Mrs F1lson Mrs Stanley Mtss Ray Mrs Hal.l1day and Mr Dunn We elected as our stewards Jack Rogers V1rg1l Burrxs Hugh Graham Earl lcard and the log keeper Patty Buffmgton After many happy days the group landed and debarked for a three months vacation Agam tn 1952 the same group known now as Sophomores came back on board and agam went on the search We had a new p11ot Mr R H Ferguson The group was a ltttle more expertenced now but we Mr Rogers Mr Boggess We also had some new stewards They were Vtrgtl Burris Phyllts Melton Nancy Sayre J ack Rogers and the log keepers June Rogers and D1ck Austin. By the end of nme months we were ready for our three months vacatton We were now half way to our goal We came back 1n September as jumors We were really proud and ready to face anytlung that came before us Our ptlot was again Mr R H Ferguson For th1s n1ne months our co p1lot and weathermen were Mrs Foglesong Mrs Rayburn Mr Franklm and Mr J ordan. Our able stewards were Dick Austtn Claxr Lee Cottrill, Patty Buffmgton J ack Rogers and log keeper Bomue Aten. But due to a bout with poho V1rg1l Burns and Nancy Sayre also served as stewards The Fall of that year was a busy txme as the class presented You Can IKISS Carohne and received their class rmgs Everyone was exctted all sprmg becauseof our .Tumor Senior Banquet and Prom. We were the hosts wtth a theme of Make Beheve Soon after thts event we were agazn ready for a three months vacanon Starnng on the last attempt to f1nd knowledge the group had narrowed down to 139 semors We had a new ptlot Mr Benjarmn Frankltn IV The co pilots were Mrs Sterrett Mrs Beller Mrs Rouse Mrs Green and weathermen were Mr Putz Our stewards for th1s fmal tr1p were Clatr Lee Cottrxll Davxd Somerville, Phyllts Melton, Randall Garland and log keeper Dor1s Wellman We had a new expertence when the photographer came, portraits were taken and as sprmg came our acnvittes began to speed up we order our invltations make our guest list our class play was presented class day and skip day was held and we began pracuce for graduation Finally the day had arrtved we the class of 1955 had reached the end of our search We were the first semor class to graduate from our new Audttorxum Gymnasmm.
