SCIENCE The Science Department in our school is designed for college and non-college students. The courses available to the student are Biology, Chemistry, Physics, intro. Biology, Earth and Space Science, and Astronomy. The courses such as B Biology and Chemistry are lab sciences, Once a week, a lab is given out of the course. Two years ago a biology course was started for the non- college student. The purpose of the course is to help the students develop and appreciate science. Last year, one such biology class made wire cages and filled them with different types of rodents. Aquariums werseifillted with both fresh and salt vizater inhabitants. In the future, the department has considered, the possibility of some semester courses in Ad- vanced Biology and Physics classes may be added. INDUSTRIAL I, ARTS The Point Pleasant Industrial Art Depart- ment has expanded in many ways into many new and interesting courses. This department is divided into four classi- fications. Wood Shop, Metal Shop, Me- canical Drawing,land Graphic Arts, all equally important componants of the department. Each of these areas have a four year program geared from begin- ner to the advanced craftsmen. Metal Shop and Wood Shop allow the student tojwork on various projects of varying difficulty, according to the experience of the student. In Mecanical Drawing the students are given the opportunity to develop designs for various working models of homes, factories, and office buildings. Graphic Arts offers many dif- experienScgesg,ti,n the print imedia, ihcluding a newtiiarnd popular course in photography.
