The A.F.S. Club has enjoyed a very fruitful year in 76. This year Lennart Westman, a stu- dent from Sweden, attended P.P.B. as a senior and graduated with our students in june. Activities that the student club members have participated in this year were three rollar skating parties at the Lakewood Rollar Skat- ing Arena along with the Point Pleasant Beach A.F.S. Club members, a Square Dance held in the cafeteria with Bob Bissey the caller. The highlight of every year is A.F.S. Day which is an annual event. This took place on ,Feb. 27th at both the Beach and Borough schools. Approximately 14 foreign A.F.S. students who are attending high schools in Monmouth and Ocean County are slated to spend the day at either Point Pleasant Borough or Beach High School. They will attend classes during the school day and tell the students about their homelands and school. Our student chapter had been active this year in trying to raise money for students coming to our country or planning to go overseas. They have sold pretzels at home soccer games, sold A.F.S. Christmas cards and sold refresh- ments at Adult Chapter Flea Markets.
