SENIOR PLAY The Senior Play Charley's Aunt lparkled for a three nights' run as an effervescent group of thespians dis- played their talents. Annually the seniors' dramatic pro- duction is a good money-maker and a clear reflection of the fun loving or cul- tural side of the group. Laughter pre- vailed over art-for-art's-sake as Bron- son King. the fake Donna Lucia. led the cast through a romping two and a half hours' performance. Directed by Robert W. Pat Peterson: the Secretary and Treas- urer, Phyllis Hurley. During the first half of the year the work of the club was devoted to the study of voice techniques. make up. stage craft. and other fields of dramat- ics. The second half of the year was concemed with productions. Comedy, tragedy and choral work were featured in a successful school presentation. Meeting once a week the staff members are taught the fundamentals of school newspaper work. Through Mrs. Auleen V. Trammell's guidance. the efforts of the editor, Ethel Mae Smetts, and a staff composed of members from all classes, The Pointer has become another headline feature at Point. Through this experience in writing. they learn how to become efficient reporters. To encourage stu- dents to write. any person who has had articles printed in the Asbury Parlr Press, is rewarded a free excursion up the Hudson River. Mrs. Auleen V. PAN-AMERICAN CLUB One oi our most active clubs is the Pan-American Club sponsored by Mar- tin H. Russell. The aim of this new club is to foster understanding and to create better relationships between our Spanish speaking countries in Latin America. Besides studying the history and folklore oi South America and Spain. their fun includes leaming many dances, a few oi which are the Hhumba, the Tango. and La Raspa lthe Mexican shuiflel.
