The main buildings loolc about the same today, but we have grown since l925 when the tirst students entered these class- rooms, and the graduating class consisted ot eight seniors. ln those days the school included the junior high grades, and it wasn't until Dana Junior l-ligh was built that this situation was relieved. Through the years as our student body has grown larger it has been a problem to tind enough classroom space, and new additions including the shops, and gyms have been added. Now once more our school is about to grow again. s 1 jvvwifv'-Vins 5 fy E c sig X. dt x ' it n .. Jimi The modern building pictured below is the architect's dream of our latest addition. Construction will begin this summer and will be completed in September, l955. A new Library, Cafeteria, Science Department and l-lomemalcing Department will be included in this building. Thus, as we the members ot the Senior Class ot l954 move on to greater achievements, Point Loma also moves forward to otter more to tuture generations. ' R g , ' 'Ta-C! Our Drama classes are always outstandingly active in play production. This year's calendar has brought us, A Pair ot Lunatics, A Young Man's Fancy, Thursday Evening, The Rest Cure, Ringing in the Groom, Gloria Mundi, and l-lis First Date, as the one-act play program. The department presented three major productions. We thought one ot the tinest was our memorable Christmas drama, The Pertect Carol. The major production this year was the tabulous lVloliere's The Miser q while the annual senior class play was a modern comedy ot youth, Mister Peepers. Following this the seniors in play production went into a one-act drama testiyal, which was their tinal examination. Sr rrirrr Play ljrartrrr: 'iMlSTER PEHJERS ka, ,Dx NON' THE PEPP! Point Loma's varsity squad started the year very well in the Football Carnival, by gaining more yardage than any other school, and holding Kearny l-ligh to a scoreless tie. The Pointers then went on to defeat a strong EI Centro team, but were upset by an underrated Kearny l-ligh School eleven. The L-omans came back in strong tashion to beat I-lelix I-Iigh in a rough and tumble game-28 to 7. Atter losing a close I4 to 6 game to San Diego, the Maroon and Gold brake the two-year winning streak ot La Jolla by blanking them in a I4 to O game, and then breezed over Grossmont l-ligh, 4I to 6. They lost the last game ot the year to Santa Barbara. Our gridders played some very good games this season, ending the year with a record ot tour wins and tour losses.
