Concert Master was Frank Asaro, with James Donahue, Robert Cancelosi, Chuclc Boyce and Alaine Sutherland as tirst bass, first cello, tirst viola, and tirst second violin, respectively. Individual members who have represented the school as soloists include Tony Roslc, Robert Cancelosi and Raoul Appel. Regular season competition got underway with Point Loma edging Kearny 8-7 before being smothered by l-loover I5-4 and San Diego 8-I. We got back on the winning track .against l-lelix, whipping the Highlanders 5-I. but lost the next outing to La Jo-lla 2-O and closed out first round play by stopping Grossm-ont 7-6. Kearny made up for its first defeat by belting the Lomans in the opener of the seco-nd round 6-4. Point Loma rebounded from this upset as they blistered l-loover 2-O, San Diego I2-7, and l-lelix I l-7 to fashion their largest winning streak of the season. La Jolla proved to be too much for us once more, however, as they snipped us in the next game 6-O, then the Pointers were defeated in the last contest of the seaso-n by Grossmont. It is up to you whether you wish to carry on with your education or not, or whether you will go out into the working world, or perhaps into the service. Years later you will look back on your junior high and high school years and think how much you've grown up mentally since that time. But you'II also remember all the won- derful times you had. Those important football games, and how dis- appointed you were if we lost: the many dances, and some of the ridiculous costumes you wore: the school elections, and cheer leader tryouts: the fight fo-r seats in the cafeteria, the April Fool edition of the Pointer: some of the silly things that happened in class: the rush at the end of the year with all senior activities going full speed: Commencement and the Prom and saying goodbye: they'II all have a place in your heart for many years. Now, a look into the future. I predict that the class of '53 will be successful as adult citizens of this world. Take my word for it, because the stars predict it. Astrologically yours, ZODY Senior Calendar Senior Rings November Senior Dance, Castaways . .
