-gl CLASS OFFICERS Left to right: Russel Crane, John Kearns, Jack Palmer, Ryo Morilcawa iymf.-W SUMMER CLASS VER SINCE the class ot '39 entered Point Loma, it has striven toward one goal- to be a senior class in which Point Loma could take real pride because ot its character and achievement. Point Loma, with its traditions and opportunities, inspired the class to worlc toward this ideal, and Mr. Swenson, the teachers, and the class sponsor, John C. Lamott, have given untailing and invaluable aid. Each member ot the class has worlced to contribute in some way to the success ot the group as a whole, and some have received recognition tor their outstanding achievements. The class selected its otticers because ot their service and leadership in past years, and so well have they executed their duties that the class is proud to be represented by them. Russel Crane has served as president ot the senior class, Jaclc Palmer as vice-president, Ryo Morilcawa as scretary, and John Kearns as treasurer. Many seniors were on the tootball team which won so many victories this year, and John Kearns, Dave Cobb, and Chattey Weiber were chosen on the All-Metro League team. Seniors of outstanding scholastic achievement were Alice Casselman, Marcella Laddon, l-lollas Williams, Peggy Mayer, and Walter Gamble. Seniors chosen on the A. S. B. Commission included James Lowell, general attairsi David Porter, tinance: Jean Sherwin, girls' activities: Dorothy Davis, girls' athletics: Jaclc Palmer, interscholastic athletics: Jeanne Walden, historian: Barbara Cooper, clerlc. The seniors will never torget the caretree tun ot swimming and picniclcing at Del -Mar on Ditch Day. The Prom at Hotel del Coronado was the lcind that every senior dreams ot. Then with the Ford Bowl as a lovely setting, impressive exercises tittingly closed the high school lite ot Point Loma's I939 seniors. The one hundred and titty graduates have reached their goal. Now they are eagerly going torth to seelc the new desires and aims that their widened horizons will open to them. Sixteen
