WINTER CLASS N FEBRUARY one of Point Loma's most unusual classes was graduated. The winter class of I939, the smallest in the school's history, was com- posed of nineteen members. Although their numbers were small, each member worlced so efficiently and cooperatively that the affairs of the group were planned and carried out with great success. The nineteen. favored by luck, found perfect snow weather at Cuyamaca State Rancho where they spent their Ditch Day. The fun of Ditch Day was equaled only by the Seniors' enjoyment of their party at Dick Montgomery's ho-me. The class initiated a type of graduation exer- cises which may become a tradition for winter classes at Point Loma. The exercises, informal but truly impressive in their simplicity, were held during regular assembly hours in the presence of the senior high students. Jeffries l-lall served as class president with Dick Gilliland as vice- president and Adella Wickham, secretary. The February class has at- tributed its accomplishments to the great enthusiasm shown by its sponsor, Ethel Henderson. by the teachers, and by Mr. Swenson. The class left a message of encouragement and good wishes to the classes which will graduate from Point Loma in the future. Thirteen
