WINTER CLASS HISTORY HE Winter Class of '34 terminated its career with a beautiful graduation ceremony in the Point Loma High School Auditorium on February I. Under the guidance of our most kind and patient sponsor, Miss Clark, and our very helpful and understanding adviser, Mr. Swenson, we enjoyed a happy reign as the Senior Class of Point Loma High. Although small in number, we had a good time, prob- ably better than if we had had a larger number. We all became very well acquainted and by the end ofthe semester knew a lot about each other. Considering the size of the class, we were fairly well represented in all lines. Frances Box, our Valedictorian, has one of the highest scholarship and citizenship ratings yet made in the history of this school. George Prodanovich, Eric Pfefferkorn, and Bill Emerson were all outstanding in our school's major sport, football. The class activities which will remain longest in each member's mind are the party at Miss Clark's home, the Ditch Day, and Senior Assembly. Our Sponsor served break- fast for the entire class at her country home on Grossmont. For our Ditch Day, we waited till snow was reported in Pine Valley. When we arrived there, we found the weather to be just the opposite of cold. Therefore, instead of skiing and fighting with snowballs, we spent our day in horseback-riding, hiking, tennis playing, and eating. Hoover High had its Ditch Day at Pine Valley on the same day. Our Assembly took the place of a farewell banquet, depicting the class banquet in the Dirigible LlFE before it left on its voyage into the world. We all enjoyed giving the program, which consisted chiefly of toasts and music. Of course our greatest thrill was the graduation, the most beautiful at Point Loma for many years thanks to the stage setting which represented a garden patio, made very realistic by a fountain, garden benches and greenery. You probably wonder what has become of the eighteen who graduated. Ten of them are right here in school post graduating. George Likes is working in San Diego. Lorene Morris is in Imperial Valley. Maxine La Nier is married. Bill Emerson is a cowboy in Arizona. George Prodanovich is planning to attend Idaho Agricultural College. Madeline Hundley is at home for the time being. .lack Knight is a college boyjat Santa Barbara, and .lack Horner is getting ex- perience back in Virginia. Seven OFFICERS President, .lack Horner Vice-President John Bowman Secretary and Treasurer, Eric Pfefferkorn
