Dedication We, the student body of P.A.U. H.S., dedicate this, our 1961 Foghorn, to a man who, in just two short years, has gained the affection and admir- ation of everyone wno has associated wita him. His avid interest in student affairs, his ability as both a teacher and coach, and his unquenchable spirit, are the attributes wnicn have endeared him to us. Principal's Message One of the greatest needs of our age is the need for development of self-reliance in the individual. As our government has been pushed in the direction of a wel- fare state, our citizens have become more and more de- pendent on others and less confident in their own a- bilities. Tnere is a growing tendency for people to settle for security at the expense of their creative abil- ities. Gur world still needs pioneers, inquiring minds, venturesome personalities, more tnan it ever did during anytime in history. Our nigh school graduates should realize that there is a great premium in life waiting for the bold, the alert, and the venturesome. Foster your strengths, be positive in your thinking and do not nesitate to take chances in life for here lies the re- wards in personality development as well as in material gains. You must believe in yourself and in your powers to cope wita the adversities of life. Develop your self-reliance and strike out with determination and vigor. So it is witn a feeling of fellow- snip and gratitude tnat we dedicate tnis annual to you, Mr. Garrett, our friend and coacn.
