We, the annual staff of the '59 Foghorn, on behalf of the students of Point Arena High School, dedicate . this annual to Mr. John Allen. Through his co-operation and enthusiasm there has been a recognized growth in quality and appreciation of music both in the school and in the community evidenced by the Christmas plays, the Spring Band Concerts, and the H.M.S. Pinafore. His band has been an inspiration to players and spectators alike at the P.A.U.H.S. games. A salute to Mr. Allen. —-Hqw big are you? What is the dimension of the shactow you cast in your school and your com- munity? Will that shadow grow in an adult world or will it blend into others to make you one of a non-contributing majority. Self respect and recognition of the worth of the individual should be characteristics you have ac- quired in school. You are essential! One is usually a small number in a numerical scale yet a single vote has elected the president of the United States No society is so constituted that every citizen is in a position to exercise leadership ability. Good followers are a must. Thinking followers a necessity. Look for your shadow. Cast a distinct one even though it may be small. You are important, diligence can help you become even more im- portant. 2 (Left to Right): A. Grmsbee, J. Halliday, Al Gans, W. May, A. Phillips, R. After becoming acquainted, through the help of our advisor Mr. Walter Weymouth, we settled down to a prosperous and active year. Our Sophomore year, under the able leadership of Bruno Fistolera, class president, we continued to increase our bank balance. As upperclassmen we had two important functions to take care of, the Junior-Senior Prom and the Junior-Senior pray. Our Prom was most successful because the Seniors enjoyed it and the play was equally as successful as the audience was well entertained. The year 1959 brought us the title of Seniors. Our decimated ranks now numbered an even dozen. We can look back and list our contributions; a solvent organization, one egghead, several athletes and three or four wives. 14 I, Jim Walker, will my job at Biaggies' to Larry Norman. I, Paul Key, will my books to anyone who may need them. I, Dennis Ferguson, will my ability to play trumpet to Lester Cook, and first chair in band to anybody who wants it. I, Pat Ciolina, will my flyboys to Arlene Baker and my good grades to Carol Potter, but my memories I take with me. I, Judy Hunter, will my ability to get poor grades to anyone who will raise them. I, Bruno Fistolera, will my ability to argue with coach to anyone who wants to try it. I, Harley Bishop, will keep every thing that I've got. I, Matt Piper, will my ability, if any, to any athlete who might be in need of it. I, Chuck York, will graduate (I Hope)! I, Ronald McMillen, will my jalopy to coach. I, Dennis Osland, will my football jersey, number 65 to anyone who will wash it. I, Judy Titus, will all my belongings to anyone, except Lester. 15 rfutocj rajjhi. We were welcomed warmly by the upperclassmen and the Sophomores gave us a reception. During the year we have had many activities. One of our annual events was a Masquerade Ball at Halloween. We have also had many candy and cake sales, and we have sponsored some of the dances after games. We are looking forward to our Sophomore year and hope it will be even more en- joyable than this year has been. Second Semester Student Sodi 9 icers (Left to Right.)
