Her kind smile and sincere friendliness have meant a great deal to the school. We’ll always re- member her. Principal's Message You are what you will be. It is difficult for those of you in your teens to fully comprehend to what degree habits formed during your high school years influence the pattern of your life. Schooling, like living, can be wasted. Those of you who do well in school will usually succeed at work because you have learned to take an interest in what you do and to show enthusiasm for it. Employers seek out these traits in prospective employees. Two suggestions I would like to pass along to you for improving your grades, making you more popular, and increasing your chances of success in any undertaking. First, take an interest in your school and some phase of school life. Busy people are happy people. Industry and happiness spell suc- cess in the classroom, in the home and on the job. Second, make an effort to understand others. Learn to pick out the good qualities of those about you. Show yourself off well and it will amaze you to find how other will reciprocate. Reporter. Class History When the Sophomore Class of 1958 welcomed us with the “Freshman Reception” we felt as though we were really welcome in strange surroundings. Mr. Weymouth was our advisor and our officers were: President, Chuck York; Vice President, Ronny McMillen; Secretary-Treasurer, Ann Stornetta: Class Representative, Bruno Fistolera: and Sentinel, Matt Piper. We had many various activities throughout the year to make it a success. Everyone looked forward to summer vacation! With Mr. Weymouth as our advisor again we elected officers. They were: President, Ann Stornetta; Vice President, Bruno Fistolera; Secretary-Treasurer, Yvonne Chap- pell; Reporter, Ronny McMillen; Class Representative, Matt Piper; and Sentinel, Harley Bishop. This year was full of activities and lots of fun. We put on the Freshman Reception and three other big dances. We are looking forward to next year, 1957-58 when we will be upperclassmen! We were directed to the Home Ec. Room, after meeting our class advisor, Mr. Woodward, we felt a bit more at ease. September 17th we had our first class meeting in which we elected our class officers for the year. Sam Oglesby, President; Joan Warner, Vice President; Stanley Solbeck. Secretary-Treasurer, were elected in the offices. One of the first questions was about initiation, a few of us were quite uneasy about the thought of being initiated. To our surprise all there was, was the Freshman Recep- tion, which we enjoyed very much. The Sophomores did very well with the Fresh- man Reception, and we hope we can do as well next year.
