Pocola ugh School 000 a klahoma The Pocola School Building was planned in the year 1937 and its erection was completed in the year 1959 The total cost was approximately tso 000 O0 A large part of this ex pense was borne by the Federal Public works Administration iapproximately 616,000 O0 being furnished by the school d1s trictl Credit for procuring the federal aid and guiding the project to 1ts successful conclusion lS due to the wi dom and detemined efforts of tie s tool board composed at that time of N L Gray, D1f6Ct0l, C A Barnes, Member, and G X Stanfield, Clerk, and the faithful and untlring labors of the superintendent R A Scott Mr Wiley Bolt succeeded Mr Barnes as member of the board before the building was completed The original building consisted of nine rooms, the office and the library, and a gymnasium 75' X 100' feet To this was added two rooms, during the Summer of 1946, at a cost of approximately yl0,000 00 These rooms house the primary grade and school lunch hall and kitchen The people of Pocola school District can be proud of the school spirit that has made this splendid building possible. They have always responded to the call of their school leaders with the attitude that nothing is too good for our school.
