YI f Y l l Students of P. H. S. The student body of Pocatello High School has contributed much to a successful year which all of us will long remember. The past nine months have brought a re- alization of some of the responsibilities and obligations which we as individuals have to face. Along with the knowledge of these responsibili- ties and obligations, we have acquired many wonderful memories and true friends that we have grown to love and respect. These memories and friends will always be uppermost in our thoughts. What lies ahead of you underclassmen de- pends on how high you have set your goals and attain them. So choose the course you take to well your pattern of life and strive to attain your goals. Remember you failures if your future can make up for past is important enough to you. We of the senior class are leaving behind business of fulfill your the everyday laughter and serious school life, but you have yet to senior ambitions. The Pocatello High School Senate is a major branch of our school government organization. Members include three students elected from each class, the president of Girls' Council, the president of Boys' Council and the faculty advisor, The vice-president of the student body serves as president of the Senate. Among the major duties of the group are those of appropriating money from the general fund of the student body for school needs and originating and providing plans for the raising of money for student body use. Ratitying appointments of the student body president to the student activity posi- tions is one of the Senote's powers. Along with introduc- ing bills to safeguard the property of the school and of the members of the student body, the Senate is respon- sible for considering all proposed bills in the House of Representatives. The Senate is responsible for establish- ing tests of school citizenship and giving these tests to the sophomores. Approval of the Senate is also necessary for school awards which are presented to deserving stu- dents at the annual awards assembly held in May.
