The 1970 WIGWAM Pocahontas High School Pocahontas, Virginia Tazewell County Public Library Pocahontas Branch CO) mt oP = So 24 HB tei xap Foreword As Seniors, one of the most important phases in our lives is rapidly drawing to a close. Although we have learned, laughed, and cried together for many years, we still need proof of how “FAR” we have come, and also, to show you that are left behind how much “FARTHER” you have to come. For these reasons, we, the WIGWAM Staff, have worked diligently to preserve some of these moments for your enjoyment as well as ours. Now, it is with great pleasure that we present THE 1970 WIGWAM. However, it has become a necessity to say a special “thank you” to one particular per- son. For the past five years, her sincere attitude, diligent work, and wonderful personality have benefited not only us, but also our school. For helping us to come “THIS FAR”, and for showing us the way to go “FARTHER”, we dedicate THE 1970 WIGWAM to Mrs. Drema Leedy. Appreciation Mrs. Betty Daugherty As our final days at PHS are drawing to a close, we find that she has been a big help to us in many, many ways. We realize that without her kind as- sistance, many days would have been filled with confusion. We, the Senior Class of 1970, appreciate her help and thoughtfulness. Miss Vivian MeNulty Although we have known her for only a short time, we, the Seniors, feel that she has made our final year at PHS a brighter one. Without her constant smile and charming personality, our most important days as Seniors would have seemed empty. We want to thank her for helping to make our Senior year a happy one. : q q ROL ERe Mrs. Bessie Walker Her wonderful personality, excellent advice, and smile shall always be among our memories of PHS. For devoting her time and being a very un- derstanding sponsor, we, the Class of 1970, say “thank you’, as a class and individually. , Pee dass “gare IR ats tiicttcynttns dn RY te PA eh ane sechiii (RR tremcpieynctiirctereseciteins ¢ ages gr Cit g 5 Ceciicieergtedomcraiyt 2 a ean 6 tia i ite Dt sc ns eee anti s PORE o Hemp acitipitriommnr niin Mhiccitee aati oe a Sey aes atk ih asta CAR Cem nt Seater tit Der etic api POMS oR enh = aR Healy ae Pacis a tat a ii Stash sae tS econ ae ana aN Adegenens zu : Fa seeeat. hit: aA PIS ey 2S: lh Ae eat 8 ein Mr. Gaza Kovach For many years, everyone at Pocahontas High School has been inspired by a certain individual. Not only has he directed and taught us to the best of his ability, but his smile and laughter have made our days seem just a little brighter. His leadership at PHS shall reign “FARTHER” than time shall know. We, the 1970 Wigwam Staff, would like to express our appreciation to the many people who have made its publication possible. To the princi- pal, the faculty, our sponsor, the businesses, and our parents— Thank You 126 AUTOGRAPHS AUTOGRAPHS = 4 - a a od Pay : ‘ a Tie im the arias Stees ; a TAZEWELL COUNTY MINN 1998 00
