In my dream the bold, dashing sheriff of Pocahontas, Edward Adams, and the Constable of Machine Shop Hollow, William Milliner, were after a lone bandit, who had robbed the Pocahontas National Bank. Charles Ferrell, president of the bank, had offered a reward of five thousand dollars to anyone who could apprehend the bandit. Miss Sophia Rebkovich, secretary of the bank, identified the bandit as a small man with yellow complexion, a sharp face and a squeaky voice. I purchased an evening paper and read Miss Bonnie Swimm's column covering the developments of the rob- bery. Detective Billy Arrington had several leads on the holp up, but he could not get Billy Eskut, a service station owner, to identify the licenses on the get-away car. Eskut smiled and said, I just can't say. .lust then, Terry Kitts came down the street and was nabbed as the bandit. He said this was one of his practical iokes. Besides, he put the money in the bank's wastepaper basket. After all of this excitement, I went to a movie. In the newsreel, I saw Miss Barbara Fowler, a ballet dancer, now on tour in France. Next, President of the United States, James Baily, made his State of the Union ad- dress. QHe was the first president under 35 years of 099-I He was f om Vice-President John Barbour Qmd Secretary of Baker. Then Harrison ' W.A., made the 1358 of U He also ,he new up by Senator Rose- Finally, it time for the love making begween and Jack Playboy Suk, I out on the street. and Harold on their guitars a paying my regards, I At the hotel, waitress, who then went up to my room to watch the television. I tuned it in to Gene Harry James Totri, who was play- ing his hot trumpet to the tune of Sugar BIues. After- wards, I listened to Wayne GiIIespie's Sports Review. He told of Crockett Murphy's All-American triumph and what a fine job Jimmy Sanderson, Coach of Duke, was doing. Also, he told how Tommy Welch, the passing ace, had spured S.M.U. to its tenth straight win. He then told of Elwood Sluss and Buddy Young signing professional basketball contracts. I then turned the set to the Old Maid's Convention. On the front seats sat Grace Wheeler and Fannie Williams. Miss Patsy Crockett was guest of honor, hav- ing iust returned from a singing tour in Europe. She was very dignified as most obese ladies are. Then Miss Betty Lou Fern told of her heart breaking experience in love and her hatred for men. Becoming bored by statistics of marriages, I tuned in to a quiz program. The contestants were of various professions. The first, Roy Shupe, a space flyer, won an atomic motorcycle. The next contestant, Patricia Franklin, a secretary of Standard Oil Company, won a set of silverware. She and Roy then left arm in arm. Miss Delphia Bentley Bolen won a trip up the Amazon, which she called a deIayed honeymoon. Then Mrs. Margaret Pressley Collins received the Housewife of the Year Award. Donald Hess, the announcer, then signed off. Picking up the paper I read where Ted Stone had received a contract with Underwood Typewriter Com- pany. Curtis Howard had received a contract with International Masons. llncidentally, he was building a new China Wall.J Then I read where a former school teacher, Miss Louise Jones, had signed a contract with M.G.M. to star in a new version of Gone With the Wind. Just then, someone slapped me on the back. As I awoke, I heard them say, That's the Iaziest boy I have ever seen. That's what he'lI be doing ten years from now, lying around sleeping.
