BILLIE ANN FOWLER “Let’s dance up a storm” Class Prophecy When I returned from my cross-country flight, my wife, Bonnie, and I sat down near the fire-place to discuss the things I had seen on my trip. She asked me why I had been delayed and I told her that I had been forced to land on a farm, and who should come to meet me but a man dressed in an old faded Pocahontas jersey, John Totri. When we had fin- ished a delicious chicken dinner we sat down to talk about the days of old. He told me that Dotty and Betty Lou had a number together at the Waldorf-Astoria. Admiral Ballard was sitting on the first ‘row, winking at Betty Lou as he used to do in school. “And do you remember Ossie Cochran’? She is manager of a large Market in her home town, and for old-time’s sake buys all her bread; from the Wallace-Danko Bakery, which is located in Springville, Virginia. As Bonnie and I sat talking, the door bell rang and it was the post- man, Raymond McFarlane—late as usual. He brought a letter from Bon- nie’s old school friend, Mrs. Mullins, formerly Jane Saunders. In her let- ter she stated that Betty Ruth Ranger and Tessabelle Tavlor are now with the Army Nurse Corps. Boom! Bang! We ran to the window and to our surprise we saw Andv and Theresa driving by in a broken-down 1940 Oldsmobile. Theresa was at the wheel. When I returned to the fireplace, I picked up the evening paper. I read that Agnes Rangeo is now our foreign minister to Russia. Her secre- tary is Constance Shumate. Bonnie took the paper and, of course, turned first to the society col- umn. There she saw an account of the marriage of Betty Jean Harless to a Sailor with whom she had been corresponding for fifteen years. Settling down to a quiet evening, I turned on the radio and whose voice should we hear but our old schoolmate, Frances Nogy. She was pinch-hitting for Daisy Mae, and singing with Charlie Arnette. Their peat was sponsored by the Dog Biscuit Factory, owned by Billy Ann owler. I looked around and found that Bonnie had fallen asleep, so why talk any more? Good night!
