THE POCAHONTAS Class Poem May I, My Friends, present to you The Senior Class of Forty-two? At first comes Lee who's got big feet, Near every girl he’d find a seat. And then we come to Wanda Ree, Whose wish is by her man to be. Next Franny Crist, whose big brown eyes, Will show that she is always wise. Then, James, who lives in Paradise, Is short and fat and very nice. And Milton, too, is lots of fun, E’n tho’ he is a preacher’s son. And, now, we come to Betty Shell, Who claims that she can always tell That Lougy, with her red hair blest, Makes better grades than all the rest. But Jack, the leader of our class, Has never worried ’bout how to pass. Yet, Sis, who also likes her fun, Most always has her lessons done. And Eleanor Wright, our black-haired lass, Rides in a taxi to her class. But Rose, the quietest of us all, Will never roam around the hall. And Hazel never talks too much, And so she never gets “in dutch’’. While Butch, who talks most all the time Says not a thing thats worth a dime. And. Frances Pais our well-known beauty, Thinks graduating is a duty. And Moe, a girl with pretty hair, Has a complexion that is fair. The little, dark-haired boy is Slick, For playing ball he is our pick. Now Dor’thy is as good as gold, She does or says no wrong (I’m told) And Ada Moore cannot forget That every teacher has a pet. Now Becky hates her middle name But, Maude, we like you just the same. (Continued two pages following)
