We were startled at first by being called rats but we soon became accustomed to that appella- tion and resolved to do our best nevertheless. ‘We were so crowded in our class that it was de- cided to divide the class into two sections for our English and math. classes, one section composed of boys, the other of girls. ‘le organ- ized our class with the following officers: Johnny Crist, Pre sident; Inez Pais, Vice-pres- ident; Hlizabeth Crawford, pecretary:; and Ralph Lotito, Treasurer. Our roll had dropped more than ever for now there were only twenty in the class. We elected for our class officers that year Yates Thompson, President: Inez Pais, Vice-president; William Gillespie, Secretary. Mr. Dingus Huffman was sponsor of our class during our Junior year. . Our last year in high school began in September 1957. There were left only nineteen to graduate, all of whom entered upon their work with a very dim realization of how busy the year was going to be for each one. ‘“Villiam Gillespie was elected P resident: Paul Barbour, Vice-president; Yates Thompson, Secretary; and scnnny, ‘Crist, Treasurer, S — SS ! | mM = SSS SSSA eae ee ae ae ee penta dow wkvyian URS RE TART aot oe, mS a Sssontsaghe {Seana aoe 7) - SE.
