Danny Churchill, a New York playboy, must spend one year on an Arizona ranch before he can inherit his father's for- tune. He knows he will miss the Broadway night lifeg and so when Holly Gray, the postmistress of the little Arizona town, suggests that he turn it into a dude ranch, he does so enthusiastically. With Louie, a cab driver from Brooklyn, and Jake, the caretaker of the ranch, he manages to rebuild the old ranch into a well-known dude ranch. There's plentyof trouble, however. First, Lank, an outlaw, tries to discourage him by shooting the sheriff. Pete, Lank's Mexican partner, tries to help, too. Things are really in a fix when Sam comes to town and takes Molly away from Danny. Louie is talked into running for sheriff, but he does more ru ning from Lank than doing his duty as sheriff. Rose loves Louie, and she tries to help him. The girls from the switchboard , , , , , andthe ranch hands, Cactus and Lucky , all helpto straighten up Danny's romance with Molly and keep Tess away from him. Eaglerock keeps Lank from shooting Louie, and when the money, which Dannq was to use in a swimming pool for the ranch, is stolen, Lt. Caddigan clears up the mystery. Of course, everything ends happily, for Molly and Rose get their men, and Tess settles for Sam. 3 9 2 E 5 5 11 miFIS 3i91l iSl .aB1!.HEBW The high school presented their second All Class Play on February lh, 1956. The play which was chosen was ' Harvey by Mary Chase. The story of the play concerns Elwood P. Dowd C Dennis Tollefson D, a gentle toper who spent 'half his life being smart, and the other half being pleasant.' One night he meets Harvey, e white rabbit six and a half feet tall. Harvey becomes his constant companion, and the two of them make life unhappy for E1wood's sister Veta Louise C Rosemary Shaw I and his niece Myrtle Mae C Karen Anderson I. Veta decides to have Elwood treated at the local sanitarium, Chu ley's Rest, but the story she tells about Elwood and Harvey is so convincing that the doctors I Monica Powers, Gary Braley, Romaine Foege I become confused and think that it is she who should really be treated. This mistake is soon righted, but not before Elwood, with Harvey, succeeds in showing each member of the group that life can be a nappy thing, and that we should all be friends rather than critical enemies. In the end, Harvey solves everything, and Vets, Myrtle, Elwood - and Harvey, of course - return to their former hectic, but happy, life. Other members of the cast were as follows: Margie Becker, Jane Wilbur, Jerry Yocum, Cynthia Scovel, Joe Plantz, and Bob Pascal. The play was directed by Mr. Buckridge, the Speech- English instructor. 5 s 2 E E v .F.. First Row: D. O'Conner, G. Johnson, D. Beekman, E. Aden, B. Neiman, J. Letcher, B. Wingarden, L.
