WLICTEN TO LEO1W A three act comedy farce under the direction of Miss williams w s pr sented by tne Junior Class of '38 in the nigh school auditorium on two evenings Lecau e there ere tnirty eight juniors and IDG slay called for a cast of only eight, the snow was presented by a double cast Leon Paul Poduska and Bill Streitj had Nhat amounted to a genius for living Wwhy tell the truth when a lie is so much more enjoyableon he asked And when his valet QLewis Hammerj remonstrated, he airily stated that if he could lie himself into troubles, he could lie himself out of them a ain His valet tacked him up as well as he could, but often he was not so sure just vhich lie he was backing But Leon really had something to conceal His devoted and ricr are CVernon Hudek and Arnold Johnsonj planned to marry him to his a d QJeanette Carlsor and Eleanor Exs randj, but neon shied at the idea A schoolboy infatuation led him to marry a much older woman The woman had a daughter older than Leon himself After the an'sdeatn the daughter persistently ta ged after Leon calling him Wpapa' and varn the neantine, eon had fallen in love ith a girl Amelia dopriva and Margaret Ann Hudsonj, though he h d her name mixed up with that of her friend And so comolica tion piled on complication The irresponsible Leon, worried Archie the Englisnman QJerry Zatlouxal and Francis KoprivaJ, guaranteed plenty of laughs for all ONE ACT PLAYS Realizing that declamatory readings are rapidly becoming a thing of the past, the activity was not included in our curriculum of 1936 ' 7 its stead a new actlvlty one act plays vas Deralded Under the superior direction of Miss Jeanice Williams several plays have been produced Among those presented were Wwisdom Teeth,W WFor the Love of Pete,n WSub merged,W 'Sparkln Wlen Minutes by the Clock,W and WTxe Gyps5 One of these plays will be chosen to enter the Drake one act play contest in lprll WNEW FIRLSW CLASS OF '56 From left to right Roy Streit, Arlene Boozell, Kate Gilchrist, Jack Powers, Ardis Monkelien, Bessie Hammer, Tommy Lien, Velma Johnson, Paul Elg, Marjorie Nel son, Corliss Kepler, Charles Waltzayn, Dolores Kooriva, Bonalee Peterson, and Ce l1ne nopriva 25 u L' Y Q' - . , a 1 ' .
