VOLLEYBALL The 1956-57 volleyball team had an exceptionally good season. The Indian maidens won nine out of the eleven games played. including the Countychamplonship. The County Tournament was held at Palmer on February 28. Pocahontas played Ware in the first game of the 'round robinn series and won after a close struggle. In their second game Pocahontas played Palmer, and this was the best game of the whole tournament. Palmer Had been one of the toughest rivals all season, and it was only after a hard battle that Pocahontas came out victorious. The final game, played with Varina, was not too exciting. The Pocahontas girls more than doubled the score on their badly outplayed opponents. The team brought home the second County championship trophy won by Pocahontas in two years.
