twenty Senior Glass gfistorg On Sept. 8, 1948, 81 students entered Poca High School as Freshmen. Their :ponsors were: Mrs. Ely, Mr. McGinnis, and Mrs. Palisan. P When these students became sophomores there were 86 students. There were a few students who did not return but several who came from Eleanor. The sponsors were: Miss Pontier, Miss Adkins, and Mr. Crawford. ' As Juniors the number decreased to 72. Their sponsors were: Mr. Mc- Clanahan, Miss Rowsey and Mr. Persinger. During the Freshman, Sopho- more and Junior years the class flower was the Yellow Rose, the class color Red and Grey, and their motto: Do or Die. Miss Verna Asbury was chosen as Miss Poca Dot, while a Junior which was a great honor for the class and her. When the Senior year began there were only 63 students in the class of '52! They chose as their class officers, Billy Halley, President, Imogene Rayburn, Vice President, and Verna Asbury, Secretary and Treasurer. They changed their class color to Blue and White, their class flower to the Gardenia and their Motto to Live To Be Remembered. The class has several members serving on the Student Council with Charles Willard, President and Thurl Cook, Vice President. The Senior Class representatives for the Student Council are Rogena Davis and Sybil Milbee. This class has participation in various activities such as, athletes National Honor Society, and The Student Council. ' Eighteen Seniors are in the National Honor Society this year. The sponsors of the Senior Class are, Mr. Attison McClanahan and Miss Alice Adkins.

enior ass prophecy It is now 1956 and four years have passed since the long departed and forgotten seniors of fifty-two were wandering to and fro down the halls and in the classrooms of Old Poca Hi School. They today are now seniors with someone to guard their every movement but indivi- duals in the world: The making our society to dayg the foundation for tomorrow. Let's now look into the future and see just what these seniors are doing. Ellen Adamson is a secretary-A private one too. Her husband is her boss so she'll always be true. Pat Allison has made a stenographer and a cute wife also. She and Richard will always be happy I know. Roger Anderson's dream has finally come true. He owns a farm, fifty cows, and a strong wife, too. Leo Arthur is sailing on the ocean blue. He has a gal in every port and one at home too. Paul Arthur has finally quit chewing gum. He is now a professional Bum. Phyllis Baily is now a wife and mother. She wouldn't trade her sailor for any other. Franklin Barnett is an old bachelor yet. But Rogena he'll not forget. Kathleen 'Barley is married and loves to cook. She :loesn't even have to use a receipt book. Gilbert Bayless drew airplanes in high school- We all wondered why. Now, you guessed it--He's learned to fly. Jacqueline Bonnet wanted happiness and a hus- band. She now has what she wanted I see. Mary Britton is working each day of her life. Why? Because she is now a housewife. Tommy Casto is working night and day. But he is still very happy and gay. Bettie Clendenin I see she's still alive. She's keeping house for a family of five. James Cloxton as an electrician is fine. It keeps him busy most of the time. Harold Cunningham is a busy as 'can be. He is working at Monsanta I see. Thurl Cook is a great actor in Hollywood. I-Ie's doing better than Humphrey Bogart ever could. Susie Crawford has made a cute little wife. She's the sunshine in Johnnie's life. Janet Crago and Arnold arenmarried now. They are very happy and never rowe. Allen Davis is an All-American Basketball star. He's better than George Mikan by far. Rogena Davis says she's going to Niagara soon. Of course, we know it's her honeymoon. Jacqueline Farley has settled down for life. She has made a cute little wife. Billy Halley in Hollywood is working day and night. Why? Then he doesn't have time to get stagefright. Herman Hannon is a great professor at West Vir- ginia U. The boys never have to stay after class- But the girls do. , twenty-one
