They met with their friends in the Spanish Club and celebrated over two pinatas, which had been stuffed with goodies. They also saw films and heard speakers along with having their usual food days to acquaint students with var- ious types of food. The members of the German Club treated food in a different way. In December, they sponsored a bake sale to raise money for the purchase of slides and other visual aids to aid in the under- standing of life and customs in Germany. Some have already been purchased through dues and were shown at the Christmas Party, December 21. Also at the party, there were traditional German carols, a skit, and food. Throughout the year, there were student speakers who present- ed slides and discussions about life in Germany, as well as native born Germans who spoke to the club. The Spanish Club started its year by taking a trip to the Acade- my of Music to see the Ballet Folklorico, a group of Mexican folk dancers. Everyone who went really enjoyed the fabulous show. They also visited a Spanish restaurant, and went to the special Spanish and Mexican exhibits shown at museums in the surround- ing area. Spanish Club FIRST ROW: J. Pure, V. Smith, B. Delp, M. Peterson, J . Turner, V. Walter. The meetings of Le Petit Club Francais were, for those involve in the club, a true delight. More than the regular French Club, th club offered a small group of students a chance to become involve with the French language, cuisine, customs, countryside, film operas, and sculpture. Last year they heard lectures in Bench 0 French art and sculpture Which were followed by visits to the R din Museum, to the performance of the great French pantomimi Marcel Marceau, and to the Art Museum for the Van Gogh exhi o it. This year they continued their exposure by seeing such Frenc films as Les Quatres Cents Coups at the Lauffout Film Festival . the University of Penn and by seeing slides of France. Furthe more, they became really involved in the language by acting on reading, and singing Les Parapluies de Cherbourg and Carmen. At each meeting, one of the members tried his or her hand at t French cuisine, much to Miss Bonowis joy. To start off the Ne Year, there was a treasure hunt throughout the school, searchi for 1e docteur et le Pic, which was just as much fun as charades. . these things combined have resulted in close friendships, wit teachers and students alike, which are rare.

Indoor Track Few teams have ever progressed as well and as rapidly as the Indoor Track Team. The last two years have wit- nessed the building of a strong and determined team. Every man gave one hundred percent all of the time. When he finished his race, his job was only half finished, the rest of it was to help a teammate. Every effort was a team effort. When one man won, the entire team won, not only as athletes, but as individuals . The ,71 Colonials are now a part of the past. The E , medals won, the records broken, and the races both won .. and lost are remnants of a season gone by. But another E part of the season remains with each member of the ' team; the conviction that desire and determination make anything possible. After all, isnlt that what this thing is all about?
