Future Business Leaders of America F.B.L.A. had a very exciting year. They opened the year with their annual bake sale, Saturday, October 10 at the Norristown game. On October 29, the members attended the Fall Regional Meeting with other F.B.L.A. chapters from the surrounding area, at Archbishop Kennedy High School. They also attended the Spring Regional, where members participated in business skill contests on a competitive basis. If possible, some of the club members hope to attend the National Conference in Miami, on June 19. All the F.B.L.A. chapters in Pennsylvania started a statewide project this school year. Our chapter collected General Mills coupons in order to purchase a hemodi- alysis machine for one of the chapter presidents, who recently had a kidney transplant. In order to achieve this, 600,000 coupons had to be collected by June 1971. In addition to running the Lost and Found, F.B.L.A. had a car wash this spring, the profits from which will be used to finance future trips and projects. Science Research Club During the past few years, Science Research Club has been run as a club in which one could go hear lectures by scientists. This year, under their new sponsor, Mr. Rea, the club was re-oriented toward research as its main purpose for existence. Monthly meetings were still held, but in addition to the speakers members gave reports on their research. Six staff members were involved in research and next year it is hoped that everyone on the science staff will participate in research as well as the students. The problems which were studied this year concerned mag- netic fields, the gravitational field, lasers and halogra- phy, interferon, plant viruses, frictionless motion, and ecological field research.
