McCorristin, S. Schlacter, D. Hennessey, S. Hale, R. Fink, J . Mederostek, Manag- er, B. Pace, Manager. i-n-umcn-rmwmm w Coach Henry Stofko produced another great basketball team at P- W this year. The team finished with a record of 19-2, second best in the Suburban I League, and third in the Delaware Valley. The only two losses came to the tough Norristown team. The Colonials blasted the remainder of their opposition and were certainly frustrated in their excellence for they werentt able to reach the Palestra for that shot at the State Championship. The dynamic trio of Greg Delong, Gary Mitchell, and Rick Clewell, all of whom started on the varsity squad as sophomores, did a tre- mendous job in bringing P-W itts great record. Greg led in rebound- ing, Gary in assists, and Rick in scoring. The other senior starter, Harvey Schutzbank, contributed greatly in scoring, rebounding, and defense. The only junior starter, Tom Mitchell, was a tremendous asset to the team in both shooting and defense. The team passed, dribbled, shot, played defense, and rebounded extremely well. It was definitely one of the most well-balanced teams in the state and in the history of P-W basketball.

The team lost two heart-breaking games against Springfield and Upper Merion by a total of four points. This put the Colonials in a four-way tie for first place in the league.
