COMPETITION • • • Competition serves as another important aspect of PSC. Be it sports, music, or academics, there is always that feeling of competition that keeps the school spirit alive. Competitions serve as ways to improve academically or musically. In addition, sportsmanship is always tested; it has to be, when playing against so many different teams. Academics are another competitive area. Throughout the school year there are opportunities for scholarships. Students compete against one another for recognition of their academic excellence. Music is even competitive here at PSC. The various musicians are all very good at what they do, but not everyone can be used for everything. Competitions even occur outside the realm of sports, music or academics. Many competitions occur through dorm living. Winter Carnival is one great way to see competition at its best. There are pajama judgings, best dorm on campus contests, and even individual competitions such as Big Man on Campus. Competition is a way of developing different aspects of one’s personality. It’s just another part of a bigger whole. 8
