‘the college has become more diversified, students at Plymouth state used to be more directed towards career in education when i came to Plymouth in 1968 there were only four faculty in the ort department, and our facilities were in rounds hall, it seemed we were always fitting into other peoples spaces, at the time, there were no four-year programs for art students, the biggest change has been the growth, the art faculty is now much larger, there are more students in art. and there are two different four-year programs with a third on the way. 'the students have always had vitality, there is a core of interested students, full of creative energy, we have a very fine art department and the students can generally find something here. ‘i really feel that Plymouth has a lot of possibilities for students to take hold and get a good education. ... it was a difficult decision for me to make — whther or not to retire, but i intend to paint more and take a active part in the community, i would also like to to some traveling and visit some of my family.' i don't feel i'm an accomplished artist yet. and i'd like to work on that. mary taylor professor of art 14

The ocean brought me peace the wind gave me energy the sun warmed my spirit the flowers showed me life but you made me feel love............. S P Schutz no ties are attached to friendship, I know you will agree, we can always be together, being happy being free. i can take the silence, so maybe you can too. i always thought you liked me, I always thought you knew. today we can be together, at least for a little while, the day goes by so quickly, when i see you friendly smile. 16 Danette f. kolb
