BAGLEY Plymouth Teochers College, B.Ed.; Boston University, Ed.M ; University of Conn.; Ph.D. ELEMENTARY EDUCATION DEPARTMENT The purpose of the Elementary Education Curriculum is to prepare students os beginning teachers for elementary schools, from kindergarten through the eighth grade. Since an effective elementary school teacher needs both a bread academic background and a command of special teaching techniques, the curriculum includes seventy-one required semester hours of liberal education as well os emphasis on elementary school teaching.
