Freshman Orientation and Initiation The Class of 1961 entered Plymouth as one of the largest classes in late years. The first day proved the most difficult for the majority of “Frosh” — what with registration and tea for faculty, students, and parents. That evening, Freshmen were officially welcomed by various faculty members and students. The faculty had planned the next two days for an extensive testing program. Their nerves were soothed, however, by concluding the testing program with a picnic-supper at the President’s home, followed by Game Night in Mary Lyon Gym. First formal get-together for our Freshmen. Freshmen girls show the boys how it s done.

First Row: Hagner, Ackroyd, Landry, Place, Kunzt, Walker, Fitchctt, Wiseman. Second Row: Coach Goldman, Thurston, Walsh, Bruni, Lynch, Scrard, Micklin, Brock, Fuller, O'Neil, Manager, Joe Richer. Soccer This year marked the advent of varsity soccer at Plymouth Teachers College. The enthusiasm of Coach Goldman, a newcomer to the faculty this year, and the aid of Manager, Joseph Richer, were largely responsible for the team’s impressive .500 average in the New England Teachers College Soccer Conference. Plymouth rushes toward the ball at Holderness Soccer Field as a lone member of the opposition girds for an offensive.
