Vke P;ieAide d' MeMxzqs We who live and study in the ivy-covered walls of our nation’s colleges today have certain responsibilities which we should approach with humility, anticipation, and sincerity. Ours is the task of preserving the knowledge of the past ages of which ivy-covered walls are a symbol. More than that, to us belongs the challenge of discovery of new knowledge about our material world, our relationships with other men, and our spiritual connections with the force which created and guides us. Knowledge is power only if applied, however, so we go forth from halls of learning to larger areas of action to exercise a leadership in the attack upon the ever-challenging problems of our world. One of your classmates who entered with you, was called early from these halls of ivy to her eternal heavenly home. May the qualities of sincerity, loyalty, initiative, sportsmanship, enthusiasm, and high purpose which characterized Norma Wilkinson be a part of the lives of all of the Class of 1955 as you leave Plymouth and all it represents in our way of life.
