The story introduces a typical Norwegian family after migration to the United States. Mama and Papa Hanson, portrayed by jean Steever and Billy Moravinski, try to guide their children in making the right decisions. Their children, Katrin, Dagmar, Christine, and Nels were played by Carol Bonham, Romaine Gabriel, Barbara Coburn, and Gilbert Davis, respectively. Robert Lewis inacted the part of Mr. Hyde, a boarder in the Hanson house who is found to be passing checks with no bank account to cover them. Aunt Trina, in reality jessie Gesek, is Mamas old-maid sister who, at 40, wants a dowry to marry an unclertaker, Mr. Thorkelson who is enacted by joseph Markiewicz. Barbara Lore played the part of Aunt Sigrid who is described by Uncle Cris, Delbert Kishbaugh, as a whining old fool. Aunt jenny played by Lucille Gardzalla, is described as a bossy old fool, H , 1 x 1 si' '23 .Nr ff Q N QEN 3 . 3, . fy, Y .fx 55 Z tio ., ' :ik 4 , 114 f.'1,w.Wu .fb 'Q- n-h'-- . . Their tireless efforts and hard work have been a major factor in the smoothness of our athletic program. It is to thesefmen that we give a well- deserved word of thanks. COACHES The brains behind the success of any team lies in its coaching staff. All of the athletic squads at Plymouth are headed by some of the best and most competent men in the coaching field. It is to these hard working men-devoting their time after school, to long hard work, that Old Shawnee has the Hne teams represented for its sports program. TRACK Coach Edward Davis welcomed the spring season for 1957 with an optimistic outlook for the '57 edition of the P.H.S. track team. With many veteran campaigners returning for another crack at the cinder sport, it was apparent that the local thin clads would be fighting for honors right from the opening gun. Elected captains for the season were Stanley Siber- ski and Ben Grella, while the list of track performers was many. Seniors returning in addition to Siberski and Grella were: Tony Zwbris, Neil Amdur, Albert Dobrowalski, john jones, Robert Puchalski, .ind Melvin Cohen. junior trackmen included Paul Dwyer, Sheldon Thomas, Ronald Ostrowski, Thomas Post, Yorath Evans, Ray Marchakitus, Ray Frey, Phillip Vanesko. Leon Cyganowski, and ,lack Hock. Sophomore standouts were Bill Edwards, Steve Gorko, john Alden, Tom Meyers, Donald Dwyer. and Thomas Prochaska. Wins over West Side Catholic and Meyers pro- vided opening spark for the cindermen. Take-ODI Iime!! 4 KX , e , Wil TBP-.' 'zum- in f , 1, ,Lg-equi x L? ' .za 'N isis-C ' 9' I' . H 4? . . The 1957 Plymouth diamond lads showed great promise of copping division honors. Back from last year's team were, Tom Pugh, Ed Krefski, Mike Winnicki, john Polanchak, Andrew Matovchak, Bernard Kollarick, Ben jenkins, Tom McTaugue, john Pritchard, Thomas Rakaczewski and Robert Piscotty. With plenty of depth at all spots and a balance of hitting, fielding and pitching, fans at Old Shawnee were hoping for a winning club. As each game rapidly was played and each new one approached, the Mergomen continued a steady climb upward in the Southern Division battle. During the campaign, they faced such tough foes as Nanticoke, Newport, Northwest and Larksville, and battled many other top-notch valley nines in non-league encounters. With many underclassmen on the squad, Plymouth can look for championship clubs for the future seasons. I' Q50 1 X 7 W 5 A I f W 2 6' 4-1 I ,X If lil! 1 'jr' 111, 053,45 A E 0 19 ,x ,721 f Fa' 9 zz.
