May we give to her the best, Which is due from you and me, And held sacred by the rest On mountain, land and sea. On to glory, Plymouth High, To the famous heights let's climbg Let our colors proudly fly Through the days of unending time. Our school ties shall never break, Though were scattered far and near, Loyal still for loyalty's sake To our Alma Mater dear. Chorus Plymouth High! For the valor of Plymouth High! Shout! Shout! Shout! For the colors we let fly. Red and Black! For these We'll always fight. May the studen Prove its ts of our school, SMH I I :ati is an 8 I A ,ki s K Q , y eil iw W' I + 4- K ...... . 'Gif 'VC Wins ating K PUHEWURU Now that our high schools days at Plymouth High have come to a close, we present this book to serve as a reminder of the many happy hours spent within her halls. Here our fondest memories will always remain. The fun, the thrills, the victories, the defeats, and all the little things that happened will long find room within our hearts. While turning the pages of this book you may happily recall many wonderful experiences: the min- strels, the plays, the band concerts, the proms, or you may suddenly find yourself earnestly cheering your team on to victory at an unforgettable game. We also remember how, during our past years we dwelt in the presence of kindness, tolerance, apprecia- tion, honor, justice, and most of all friends. Yes, each day unconsciously meant the strengthen- ing of old friendships and the beginning of new ones. We lived in each other's joys, accomplishments, and successes, and shared together the cutting pangs of one another's misfortunes. Now, however, we must depart from our Alma Mater to embark on the journey of life, and the countless memories lodged within our hearts will often be made vivid to us through the pages of this significant book as we look back with pride and satisfaction upon our profitable and pleasant days at Plymouth High. To lead them john Musial, Marlyn Strongoski, Nancy Stonecavage, and Frank Ferris were elected President, Vice-President, Secre- tary, and Treasurer, respectively. Many enrolled in the F. S. C., Dramatics Club and Band. Cheerleaders chosen Were: Sharon Dwyer, Rosemary Bernick, and Romaine Bonsavage. Finally, to complete the success- ful year a Marionette show was held. Advancing to a higher ground as Sophomores, the Reservation leaders were: john Musial, President, Marlyn Strongoski, Vice-President, Mary Puhlick, Secretary, john Nealon, Treasurer, Ruth Waligorski, Mary Puhlick, Adrianne Mital, and Isabel Godek were selected as majorettes. Some participated in the Glee Club, minstrel, school play, band concert and Shawnee Arrow staff. An outing at Harvey's Lake was enjoyed by all. Still advancing, the tribe entered their junior year. The braves and squaws joined the Hi-Y, Fire Squad, Y-Teens, and Library Club. Everyone enjoyed the annual outing at Harvey's Lake. Finally, the last grounds of the Reservation were reached! Senior leaders were: John Musial, Marlyn Strongoski, Mary Puhlick, and john Nealon, as Presi- dent, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer respec- tively. The now experienced warriors were a credit to the Shawnee Reservation. A Mardi Gras was held on November 26th, and Sally Carver reigned as queen. Reservation activities completed, triumphant Indians went their separate Ways from the happy grounds they had learned to love. Filled with sadness, they knew that they would always remember the hours of fun and learning they had spent in Plymouth High School. MADGE EVANS Clary Song Composer SE IUH EL S5 SU G FAREWELL Tune: With These Hands Plymouth High, we must leave you, Through the years, we will cherish, T he time has come to say good-bye. The thoughts of our past high school days. Memories, we will cling to, Ever near, we will hold you, As future years go passing by. As we go on our separate ways. All our friends, welll remember, In our hearts, we will keep you, Although we'll ne'er see them again, and And in our prayers you'll always be, so Smiles and tears will be with us, Even though we are grieving, When we think of all the fun that you have giv'n us When we think of these great halls that we are leaving So farewell now, we must leave you, This, our class of '55 Plymouth High. Bids you farewell. U51 MISS GRIFFITH'S HOME ROOM Fin! Row: Miss Grittith, Joseph Ash- bridge, Frank Edwards, Tommy Evans, Stanley Frantz, Bernard Burkowski, Bernard Bednarski. One of the bright spots of the schedule was a very impressive 74 to 48 victory over Bethlehem's Bulldogs in a benefit game at Lehigh University. The Indians opened the 1955 Wyoming Valley League season with four straight wins and seemed well on their way until they dropped a close 50 to 46 decision to Nanticokeg which gave the Nans the first half crown. In the very next game, however, the boys bounced back to rack up the highest score of the season in the league as they trounced Kingston to the tune of 99 to 63. Shawnee romped through its second half schedule and sewed up the crown by defeating Nanti- coke 76 to 44 at Plymouth. This year's basketball Indians, although dropping the Wyoming Valley League Title, managed to capture 21 out of their 26 games, losing to Shickshinny, Luzerne, and Nanticoke. The following week, the Indians traveled to King- ston, where they were again unsuccessful as they hattled the Huskies to a 30-16 decision. Plymouth dropped the next 3 meets to G.A.R., Meyers, and Nanticoke by scores of 26-16, 25-24, and 51-13, respectively, In the following meet with Hanover, the Indians hroke into the winning column by overpowering the Hawkeyes with a 39-141 victory, In the final meet of the season, the undefeated Forty-liort Flyers refused to allow Plymouth to get a much needed start and emerged 33-6 victor.
